The back pressure regulator is used to maintain a constant sample gas pressure inside the analyser regardless of the respective barometer reading, and installs in the gas outlet of the analyser. Using the back pressure regulator eliminates measuring errors due to barometric variation. The back pressure regulator is set to a pressure higher than the normal fluctuations in the atmospheric air pressure.
